Zara Croc & Chain City Bag Review+ What`s in my bag

This Zara Croc and Chain City bag has been all over my blog these past couple of weeks , but this is the last one I promise. I wanted to do a review of this bag and since I haven`t done a What`s in my bag in a while I decided to combine the two.So here it goes.

I`m starting off with the beauty products that live in my bag from left to right L`occitane Lip Balm , is always in my bag I love wearing mate lips so my dry lips get even drier by the end of the day. Next I have the Chanel Lipstick in Gabrielle , my all time favorite red, I can use this as a sheer wash of color by dabbing it on my lips and then working it in with my fingers or if I want a full on red lip I can also really build it up. The last lip product in my bag that day is another bold lip favorite of mine the Mac Rebel lipstick , a cult favorite I use this on the days I`m feeling a bit plain to give a kick to my look , it is also the color that most suits my complexion and I have gotten a lot of compliments when wearing it.
The Maybelline Afinitone concealer is also one of my handbag staples, it is a great all around concealer works great under the eyes as well as on spots and it doesn`t look cakey when I apply it during the day if my foundation rubs off.
Lastly I have a roller ball perfume from Zara (Black Peony) a great dupe for the Victor&Rolf Flowerbomb .

I have quite sensitive eyes so I have with me a pair of sunglasses these are the latest addition to my collection and they are the RayBan Classic Wayferer with the mate frame.

Also in the beauty section I carry a small hand cream , my favorite is the L`occitane hand cream , as well as some simple black hair elastics.

Lastly I have my phone a composition notebook and my daily planner as well as a pen , all by Moleskine.

Moving on to the review of this bag , I am going to start off by saying that I love Zara handbags and that most of my handbags have been from Zara. I feel like they have a good selection as well as good prices for the quality of their bags. I have had the Zara Croc&Chain City Bag for two months now, it costs 179$ (link)  , it is my first genuine leather handbag (so that might put off some people) and it is the most expensive handbag I have ever bought. Having said all that I feel like this bag is a great example of incorporating timeless design and a cool factor. I think it might be an investment but for sure one that is wort while.

I am going to start with the quality of the bag , it is not a light bag because of the metal chain but that gives the bag the feeling of quality ,and as a small bag that you wear on your shoulder I don`t think the weight is a problem , at least not for me. The croc skin design is made with stitching ,and again the attention to detail is great , the stitching is very well done and it looks very sturdy. The leather looks quite shiny in some of the photos but in real life it is nowhere near that , it feels really soft and buttery and I haven`t had any problems with scratching the leather.

I also want to address the elephant in the room ,and I will say that it doesn`t bother me how similar the design is to the Chanel Boy Bag , I think it is different enough not to be a copy but similar in its lines to be a good alternative for those like me who love the classic Chanel handbags but will probably never be able to own one.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
The size is a little bigger then I expected initially , but I am extremely petit and it still looks good so I don`t think that should be a problem. I am actually glad just because I am a huge lover a big bags ,I love carrying around with me ,all my worldly possessions , and I have had problems in the past with buying small handbags and not using them because they would not fit all I “needed”.

The bag has two compartments with a small pocket in the back , I can fit in it my planner a small notebook and even my large Ipad and I have to add that it is surprisingly roomy , I have yet to fill it up.

  1. I’m generally too impatient for wait lists and too fickle for designer bags. Seeing a lovely bag like this that is accessible and well crafted is more my style. A nod to a well known shape is perfectly acceptable in my opinion.

  2. My bag is always full of staff too… A couple of lipsticks, lip balm, hand cream, little comb, little agenda, my Lucky click and leather gloves!

  3. Thanks for recommending that perfume for a dupe of the Viktor and Rolf perfume. Especially coming from an Australian point of view where everything it literally 10x more expensive than the US and UK ^_^

  4. Love the Zara bag, gonna go looking for it ! The maybelline Afinitone concealer – can it be dabbed on even if you are outdoor for instance and you want to do a quick touchup in the washroom?

    1. It really is , I`ve had it for over a year now and it`s still my most worn bag, plus the quality is amazing it still looks brand new. Which for how much I throw it around is quite impressive.

  5. Great post. I used to be checking constantly this blog and I’m impressed!

Very useful information specially the final phase 🙂 I care
for such info much. I was looking for this particular information for
a very long time. Thank you and best of luck.

  6. I’m impressed, I must say. Rarely do I come
across a blog that’s both educative and interesting, and without
a doubt, you’ve hit the nail on the head. The issue is something that too few folks
are speaking intelligently about. I am very happy that I came across this during my hunt for something relating to this.
